This exciting opportunity is based in the Barcelona area and if you're the right fit for us, you'll find yourself working as part of our dynamic international HR team. This is the perfect role for an experienced HR Generalist / HR Advisor / HR Business Partner / HR Manager who has a really hands-on attitude, who loves to run a busy HR department while having an international HR team as peers abroad that you'll work together with during projects and our yearly people lifecycle.

As the HR Generalist, you'll report directly to the Director of Global HR, while having a close connection (dotted reporting line) to the Spanish Head of Retail. Together with an HR Assistant with a main focus on Recruitment and an all-round HR intern, you'll run the daily operations for around 200-300 employees across Spain. Working as part of a Hunkemöller HR team, means not only being customer oriented but also focusing on creating a great place to work.

You'll share our passion for World Class Service and will lead by example with the Regional and Store Managers. You'll advise them when it comes to their teams, are a true sparring partner and liaison with our external payroll & service provider.

  • Ensure that the daily HR operations are running smoothly – from hiring over training & developing until offboarding of our people. You'll play a vivid role in this yourself, ensuring our payroll always runs smoothly and our Global HR system is up to date.
  • Working closely with Head of Retail and Regional Managers to find more efficient ways of working in an increasingly Omni Channel Retail environment.
  • Working with the HR Assistant to make sure our vacancies are filled on time by candidates that have great experience and are perfect for our brand – to start your unique onboarding & training journey as we truly 'Hire for attitude & train for skills'
  • Organization of all labor law matters: Either advising with your gained knowledge of local labor market and legal/remuneration issues for your country or liaise with our external supplier to come solutions that are people focused, while ensuring business relevance.
  • Analyzing & interpreting people relevant KPIs – in order to create a great place to work whilst being focused on delivering World Class Service to our customers, as this will benefit the business results naturally.
  • We truly believe all our employees deserve to enjoy our global people initiatives. Within the HR programs & systems landscape, several (global) systems & standards have been implemented over the past 4 years (Workday, HKM Online Academy etc). Your main challenge would be to further work on a smooth transition between old and new, whilst working together with our international peer to innovate.
  • Creating a culture that shies away from ‘traditional HR practices' and is focused on improving customer service, building our brand as an employer and developing our network of truly inclusive brand ambassadors.
  • Working closely with your direct manager, our Director of Global HR (who's based in our international HQ in Amsterdam); as well as our international HR team, on a variety of local and international projects whilst remaining focused on our commitment to being a truly social business.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Ideally at a minimum 3-5 years' experience as a HR Generalist in a multisite business
  • Has experience in working internationally (this is a definite 'plus').
  • Has a minimum of a Bachelor degree, preferably HR or related.
  • Has experience in retail, hospitality or another service industry and is customer oriented
  • Pro-active and works very independently;
  • It is absolutely preferred if you're familiar working with HR systems, such as Workday, People Soft or related
  • Fluent in Spanish and English;
  • Can deal with deadlines, targets and multiple priorities
